WALK THROUGH THE CENTENARY OAK AND BEECH FOREST OF MONTE CORONA

General appearance of Mount Coronas.

Within the route of this walking route that we propose will be circular and highly advisable to preserve the physical state of our body., They will be picked up at the corresponding hotels or departure at our Pumalverde base in Udías., Cantabria, depending on what the client prefers.

Our facilities in Pumalverde

In the morning We will move from the participant pick-up area to Monte Corona in the surroundings of the town of La Hayuela, where we will enter along a track until we reach a viewing area located in the hermitage of San Esteban where we will make a first stop.

Posteriorly, We will travel along a track to the hermitage of San Antonio and on the way back we will take a small circular walk through one of the lowest ancient mixed oak and beech forests in Europe., since we are at a height of 200-250 meters above sea level.

Next, we will move to Bárcena Mayor, which is one of the most representative towns in the Saja-Nansa region, in the west of Cantabria.

This mountain town was a passage for the Foramontanos for centuries, Cantabrian peasants who from different parts of Cantabria were going to repopulate the Castilian lands. We will visit, Its spectacular cobblestone streets and mountain-style houses make Bárcena Mayor one of the main examples of popular architecture in Cantabria.. Posteriorly, We will eat the typical Cantabrian menu or food in one of the town's restaurants..

Later we will transfer to Ruente to visit Fuentona, thiskarst upwelling de Ruente comes out of acuevaand can be seen thanks to acobbled walk which leads tobirth of Fuentona.

After, The mighty river that forms passes under a characteristicpuente,  with nine eyes and short height. This is thetypical image of Ruente the water flows through the stone eyes and in the background the typical green that is never lacking in Cantabrian lands.

Once this visit is over and on the way to our starting point, you can visit the Cantabria Nature Museum located on the way in the town of Carrejo..

The excursion is done with a Maximum of 8 participants and a minimum of 6 participants.

DEPARTURE AND ARRIVAL POINTS.

Customer can be picked up, in their respective hotels or come to our facilities and we will leave our base in Pumalverde.

EXCURSION PRICES:

If the client is picked up at the hotel in Santander or Torrelavega with completion at the same pick-up location.110.00 Euros.

If you leave and arrive at our base located in Pumalverde (Udías). 100.00 Euros.

DAYS THE EXCURSION TAKES PLACE:

On Thursdays and Sundays throughout the year if there are a minimum of participants 6 people and maximum 8.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE EXCURSION

The excursion is only suitable for people without disabilities with ages over 10 years, that they can walk the proposed route, or minors who can go with their guardians in backpacks adapted for this purpose with their guardian. (Check ages between 5 y 10 years).

The cancellation would be super flexible with 2 days in advance is refunded 100%.

The number maximum of participants is 8 personas, with a minimum of 6 personas.

The duration of the excursion is approximately the entire day 8-9 hours with food included in the price in the area stipulated in the excursion.

The client must come provided with appropriate clothing and footwear and the company that organizes the excursion provides the miniban or van for transportation of 8 maximum people.

Pets are not allowed on the tour.

The language to speak, It would be Spanish and English and there are reservations for those with physical difficulties as they would not be able to access certain areas of the excursion. (Check the type of access on each visit of the day).
