MYCOLOGICAL WALKS AROUND UDÍAS AND TOUR INSIDE THE FORESTS
In this project we are going to develop and describe the aspects that we have called, “Visits to the most characteristic habitats of Cantabria in the closest municipalities of Udías, as they are: Udías, salt head, (Sequoia Forest), Valdáliga and Ruente, etc.. with the fundamental objective of classifying the most characteristic mushrooms of the existing habitats in said Municipalities and also, the most common techniques to know your way around the field.
Material to be brought by the participant
- Appropriate mountain footwear, preferably waterproof.
- A raincoat or warm clothing, if possible, breathable
By the caves and mines of Udías:
- Wicker basket, that has small holes or vents for collecting the mushrooms and that they are in season of releasing the spores, lo hagan sin ningún tipo de dificultad.
2. A knife or scissors, preferably with rounded tips, to collect the mushrooms that interest us.
3. Some newspaper or thin cardboard to make small separations in the same basket of the mushrooms that we identify that we can take to classify.
4. An observation magnifying glass for the most visible morphological characteristics that cannot be seen with the naked eye and a simple compass that points us to the North
5. Topographic plan with level curves to scale 1/2000 o 1/5000 with the orography and terrain features, casas, roads, roads etc.. most significant in the area and surroundings of where the departure takes place.
Once you reach the habitat areas, It is intended to take a tour on foot and if possible, on a circular route (in order to never pass through the same place), collecting the most common species of mushrooms on said route and their subsequent identification at the stops that will be made to analyze all the ecological characteristics, morphological, organoleptic and physical properties of the same.
Once the mushrooms have been identified,, a classification in genus and species to which each one belongs, always making a record for your knowledge and reminder for the future. Defining if it is toxic, poisonous or edible.
As a complement to the departure, instructions will be given at the beginning and once you arrive at the site., to develop the most common basic orientation techniques in the field and forest, so as not to get lost in the environment we visit, orientation with plane and compass, as well as other more rudimentary orientation techniques.
The route consists of approximately 2-3 kilometers if possible in a circular contour, with an estimated duration of 3-4 hours, that usually run along paths or paths already established in these habitats, with small detours from the main path with return to the same path to continue the activity
The main objective is to show attendees some notions about orientation on a field trip and also the identification of the most common genus and species of mushroom in the habitats of Cantabria.
The price of this excursion is 25€ per person with a minimum of 6 personas.
The activity consists of trips to the aforementioned habitats with a duration of approximately 2-3 hours including travel to said areas and a number that ranges between 6 y 10 maximum people per group.
The minimum age of the participant would be 5 years without upper limit without pets for the habitat we visited.
Las salidas se efectuarán desde el local de Cuevas y Sendero de la Mandrágora en horarios de 10.00 a 14.00 hours and 15.00 a 19.00 hours.
GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE EXCURSION
The excursion is only suitable for people without disabilities with ages over 10 years, that they can walk the proposed route, or minors who can go with their guardians in backpacks adapted for this purpose with their guardian. (Check ages between 5 y 10 years).
The cancellation would be from the section 3 of the super flexible protocol with 5 days in advance is refunded 100%.
The maximum number of participants is 10 personas, with a minimum of 6 personas.
The duration of the excursion is 3-4 hours.
The client must come provided with appropriate clothing and footwear.
The language to speak, would be the español e inglés and with reservations for those people with physical difficulties as they would not be able to access the forest area.
The price per person would be 25.00 Euros.
